Hello!
I am an artist and illustrator, working mainly with watercolors and gouache. My work draws inspiration from nature and fairytales, I aim to create illustrations filled with whimsical characters and magical, colorful narratives, often with a touch of history. In my illustrated world, children befriend woodland creatures, fairies live next door, snowflakes waltz, and hummingbirds and flowers engage in conversations.
Growing up in Oregon's high desert, surrounded by the Cascade Mountains, nature has always been a significant inspiration for me. My husband and our rescue dog, Luna, and I have lived in various places across the US—Oregon, Alaska, Alabama, California, and now back in Oregon. Researching and illustrating the local flora, fauna, and folklore of each new area has been my way of connecting to our different homes.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Art, with a Minor in Art History from the University of Oregon, where I specialized in drawing and painting with a focus on illustration.
In addition to my illustrations, I run Hummingbird Messages, my small shop selling handmade homewares, paper goods, and prints. When I’m not drawing or painting, you can find me enjoying iced coffee or matcha while baking, knitting, or reading fantasy novels. On rainy days, I love watching baking shows or period mystery dramas with Luna curled up next to me on the couch.
