Springtime Musings

During springtime I find myself taking so many pictures of all the
blooming flowers outside, which I then eventually use them as photo references
later, or at least that is my intention. Wild roses are one of my favorite flowers, I love how unruly they are, and how they add magical whimsy to a garden or hedge.

Last spring I read the The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgsons Burnett for the first time,
which I am surprised it took me so long because the 1993 movie was my absolute favorite movie!

I also recently watched the new adaptation of The Secret Garden (2020) movie and
it was so visually beautiful, and showed the magic of the garden is such
unique ways. While it is a slightly different from the original book, I
still really enjoyed it.

So with spring in the air I was inspired to illustrate my own version of the cover!

In the Studio…

In the studio lately I have been playing with logo designs and hand-lettering (or What the sign outside my imaginary bookshop would look like!).
