Early mornings before anyone is awake, with an iced coffee, I open my sketchbook to practice.

I can’t believe it has been almost a year since my last post! Since then I have driven cross country, moved into a little brick ranch style house, melted from the Alabama heat & humidity, discovered chicory coffee, and started to explore the south.

Because of all this moving that I do (#PCSing), I have lived in quite a few houses, and I really like to paint little illustrations of these houses. I like to do this to get acquainted with my new home and remember the old ones. Im sentimental, can you tell?

We are moving! Jake, Luna , and I are PCSing to Mobile, Alabama this summer! Jake is being transferred to the air station there, so we are off on a long road trip soon! And while our house is not currently filled with boxes, I imagine when it is Luna (and if I’m honest ME!) will look this worried/stressed, so she is going to get all the walks and hikes in the next few weeks!

I am going to also take a brake from blogging during our move (although I do realize that until now I haven’t posted since March ;-D ), but I am planning on Instagramming and sketching our adventures along the way, so if you are interested in drawings of Luna and pictures of coffee… follow me @hummingbirdanna on Instagram!
